Shooting

I started shooting as an Air Cadet as part of 446 (Forres) Air Training Corp. Back in those days it was .22LR converted Lee Enfield in the 25yard range in the back of the drill hall. We also managed to shoot at Fort George, the nearby outdoor range where we got to shoot 7.62 converted SMLE, and converted .22LR FN-SLR at distances up to 600yds

Started shooting competitively at Heriot-Watt Uni Rifle club, and the university weekly leagues with initially club Anschutz, then my own Walter KK Match which I still own. Shot in Scottish meets and at Bisley, but never really had (or made) the time to get really good at it. Shot for Scotland in regional matches against British Army and at Northern Ireland match, predominantly in 3 position.

Moving to the US squashed all shooting due to licensing of foreigners here, but after being a US citizen for a couple years and going through the Massachusetts LTC process, received my Unrestricted LTC-A in April 2009.

Mostly into the more historic military firearms. I loved my 7.62mm converted Lee Enfield, so looking forward to getting one again, and shooting my .22 Walther again.

Have started shooting pins and IDPA which is a blast.

And for some strange reason have a desire to shoot a musket …
